What is Clindamycin Phosphate?

Clindamycin Phosphate is a lincosamide antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, lungs, and abdomen. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Available in oral, injectable, and topical forms, it is especially effective against anaerobic bacteria and is often used in acne treatment and dental infections.

Common Side Effects :-

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Skin irritation (topical)

Precautions & Warnings :-

  • Can cause Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.
  • Monitor liver function during prolonged therapy.
  • Use cautiously in patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
