What is Clomiphene Citrate?

Clomiphene Citrate is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) commonly used to induce ovulation in women facing infertility due to anovulation or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It stimulates the pituitary gland to release hormones necessary for ovulation by blocking estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus. It is often one of the first-line treatments for female infertility.

Uses of Clomiphene Citrate :-

  • Female infertility
  • Ovulation induction
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)-related infertility

Common Side Effects :-

  • Hot flashes
  • Abdominal discomfort
  • Breast tenderness

Precautions & Warnings :-

  • Monitor for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
  • Use only under medical supervision.
  • Not recommended for women with liver disease or abnormal uterine bleeding.
