What is Fenofibrate?

Fenofibrate is a lipid-lowering agent that activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARα) to reduce triglycerides and increase HDL cholesterol. It is especially useful in managing mixed dyslipidemia and high triglyceride levels, often in combination with statins.

Uses of Fenofibrate :-

  • High triglycerides
  • Mixed dyslipidemia
  • Hyperlipidemia

Common Side Effects :-

  • Muscle pain
  • Nausea
  • Elevated liver enzymes
  • Headache

Precautions & Warnings :-

  • Monitor liver and kidney function.
  • Increased risk of muscle problems when used with statins.
  • Not recommended in severe kidney disease.
