What is Lansoprazole?

Lansoprazole is a PPI that reduces stomach acid production, helping treat acid-related disorders. It is effective for healing ulcers and preventing acid reflux complications. It works by irreversibly blocking the proton pumps in stomach lining cells.

Uses of Lansoprazole :-

  • Peptic ulcers
  • GERD
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Common Side Effects :-

  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness
  • Constipation

Precautions & Warnings :-

  • Use cautiously with long-term therapy.
  • May interact with antiretroviral drugs.
  • Monitor for B12 deficiency in chronic users.
