What is Ranolazine?

Ranolazine is an anti-anginal medication that improves blood flow to the heart without significantly affecting blood pressure or heart rate. It works by inhibiting the late phase of the sodium current in cardiac cells, which helps reduce oxygen demand. It is usually used in patients with chronic angina not well-controlled by other medications.

Uses of Ranolazine :-

  • Chronic stable angina

  • Dizziness
  • Constipation
  • Headache
  • Nausea

Precautions & Warnings :-

  • Use cautiously in liver impairment.
  • Can prolong QT interval—monitor ECG.
  • Avoid grapefruit products.
