What is Valsartan?

Valsartan is an ARB used to lower blood pressure, treat heart failure, and improve survival after a heart attack. It works by blocking angiotensin II receptors, reducing vasoconstriction and fluid retention. It offers kidney protection in patients with diabetes and hypertension.

Uses of Valsartan :-

  • High blood pressure
  • Heart failure
  • Post-heart attack management

Common Side Effects :-

  • Dizziness
  • Low blood pressure
  • High potassium
  • Fatigue

Precautions & Warnings :-

  • Avoid during pregnancy.
  • Monitor kidney function and potassium.
  • May cause dizziness, especially when standing.
