What is Ventafaxine?

Venlafaxine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) used to treat depression, anxiety, and panic disorder. It enhances both serotonin and norepinephrine neurotransmission, which helps improve mood and reduce symptoms of anxiety. Extended-release formulations are commonly prescribed for better tolerability.

Uses of Ventafaxine :-

  • Major depressive disorder
  • Generalized anxiety disorder
  • Panic attacks

Common Side Effects :-

  • Nausea
  • Increased sweating
  • Sleep disturbances

Precautions & Warnings :-

  • Gradual tapering is required to prevent withdrawal.
  • May raise blood pressure at higher doses.
  • Use cautiously in cardiac patients.
