What is Voglibose?

Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that delays glucose absorption in the intestine by inhibiting the breakdown of complex carbohydrates. It is mainly used to control post-meal (postprandial) blood glucose spikes and is often added to other oral antidiabetics for better glycemic control.

Uses of Voglibose :-

  • Postprandial blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

Common Side Effects :-

  • Flatulence
  • Diarrhea
  • Abdominal discomfort

Precautions & Warnings :-

  • Take with the first bite of meals.
  • Not effective for fasting hyperglycemia.
  • Avoid in inflammatory bowel disease or intestinal obstruction.
